The Hot July Sun!!

Today was one of those true July days. . .started off hazy and HUMID and just got hotter all day. We attended our last summer reading hour of the summer this morning at the playground in Reynoldsville. We then visited the library where the kids have taken a liking to asking Miss Sharon ,the librarian to find all sorts of books on various topics. We left with five books for each of them and even one for Mom!

After lunch the kids took a short rest time then we were off to the pool in town. We had a great afternoon there - there's not a much better way to spend the afternoon when the temperature on my shaded porch reads 94 than to get wet. Eliza showed off her gymnist abilities by putting herself into split by the wall of the pool. Eric was then excited to show his swimming teacher that he could go under water - he tried to demonstrate his ability to her and made it into the water up to his eyes. She, being the endearing woman that she is, cheered him on excitedly!

After our pool time, we headed home to harvest our first ripe tomatoes from the garden, which were yummy in our taco salad for dinner! After a wonderful rain storm for our parched land, we witnessed a beautiful rainbow in the sky behind the house. Ordinary things, yes probably, but taken as a whole, make for a pretty great day for this little family.
