We're Farming and We Grow It!

Couldn't help but title this post that way after the popular youtube video!  On Sunday, we had the privilege of all being home together. We took a little walk down to the corn field and captured some pictures of my farmer man and our beautiful kids in front of his crops. We are extremely blessed to have good corn and soybean crops this year in light of the horrible drought that the mid-west has experienced.
I love how it looks like Eric and Easton are having a conversation here!

This is Craig's first year planting soybeans. He planted about 30 acres to try it out. Of course, the deer certainly do love the soybeans, and I've seen them enjoying our crop many times from the house. We're pretty excited about the height of our first bean crop!

Looking good, boys!!

Eliza and Eric couldn't help but have the giggles as they tip-toed through the beans that were almost as big as they are!
Later that day, we also got some pictures of our tomato plants in the garden. Believe it or not, there are wire cages supporting these beasts. All I have to say is: chicken manure.

Almost up to my shoulder!!
There's nothing quite as satisfying as seeing the fruits of your labors. Farming may be hard work, but it's still GOOD work. And, we LOVE it!!!
